CafeWorkr
Working from various cafes is common among freelancers, students, and entrepreneurs. It’s not always easy to find a good cafe. Not all cafes have wi-fi or outlets. Not all places with wi-fi have good coffee. Every person has their favorite cafe though. Who doesn’t? I wanted a way to share mine without the bloat of Yelp or Urbanspoon. I like to help people when the opportunity presents itself. So, I created a way to do just that.
I’m happy to announce the launch of a new project CafeWorkr, a website application for the nomadic professional and the university student alike. The goal of CafeWorkr is to help you find a local cafe with wifi for you to do your work. CafeWorkr makes it easy to find the cafes closest to you. It uses the Google Maps API plus some custom mojo to make its search fast and easy to use. Just type in an address, an intersection in your city, or a zipcode .
CafeWorkr also keeps track of cafe hours, contact information, and tags for menu items, and ambiance. Making it easy to know when a cafe is open is important, so CafeWorkr highlights the locations hours for the current day. To give you an idea of where the cafe is located in the city, a Google Map is also provided.
The biggest challenge is information. I need your help in collecting the best information. How can you help? It’s easy. Just add 2 or 3 of your favorite cafes with good wi-fi. That’s it. Oh, and don’t forget to tell your friends about CafeWorkr.
